while in a moving vehicle! A mother let her one year old daughter play with her keys while they were on the Autobahn somewhere around Lübeck, Germany in a new-ish Passat. At one point to infant decided to throw them out of the window. The whole ring! With the proximity key attached! Well, the inevitable happened. the engine died, and the mother barely made it onto the side of the road. The police was called and even managed to find the keys. They were all heavily bent, but the eletronic proximity key still had enough life left in it to let the car start so that they could continue their journey. Still, keys, baby, open window... not the brightest of ideas.

Who doesn’t keep their proximity key in their pocket or purse? How did the baby even get the key?

Wait, what?!? Shutting down the car when it loses the key signal is a safety issue while it is stationary, even more so if it is in motion. How does VW get away with that?!?
